3 days, 4 artists & 1 back

We’re proud to bring you a story from Solveig, who had her back tattooed in Milano Tattoo Convention 2020.

I was lucky enough to be the canvas for an amazing collaboration piece during the Milan Tattoo Convention 2020. The incredible artists were Torsten and Kätlin Malm, Adrian Cier and El Mori. They designed an amazing back piece for me, going from the top of my shoulders all the way down to my behind. I was a bit concerned about the healing process leading up to the convention.

I knew the challenges of healing such a big piece, having gone through a weekend of being tattooed the year before. Not only is it impossible to fall asleep with the throbbing soreness and constant oozing, but the flight back home last time made the tattoo swell and ooze even more.

I expressed my concerns to the artists and Torsten and Kätlin were so excited to show me their new product, Tattoo Armour Aftercare Pads. I’ve used other healing pads in the past that did just all right, but still better than just the plastic wrap. I was therefore excited to see how Tattoo Armour Aftercare Pads preformed, not thinking they would be much different from the ones I’ve tried in the past. But oh boy was I wrong.

After the first full day of being tattooed by three artists at the same time, my back was incredibly sore and painful. Getting the pads put on was an instant pain relief. I could relax and not worry about bumping the tattoo into anything. To my surprise I was able to lean back on a chair and sit properly, even with my butt being tattooed. I was informed that I could easily sleep on the pads, which to me seemed too good to be true. But the whole weekend I slept like an angel. I had no issues with sleeping on my back or on my side, which is very important when being tattooed over several days.

The pads were super soft to sleep on, and they absorbed all the excess liquids, without it feeling like I was sleeping with a soggy diaper on. There was also no leaking on the bedsheets or in my pyjamas which I was very pleased about. The Tattoo Armour Aftercare Pads made it possible to get a good night’s sleep in between each day.

Taking  Tattoo Armour off in the morning was nowhere near as uncomfortable as the other pads I’ve used. They did not drag the open skin with it, and I could tell my skin had been able to breathe under the pads. They made sure my skin could close properly without getting scabs, while also keeping the cream in place to do its thing.

Traveling back home to Norway from Milan was no problem at all. Torsten, Kätlin and Adrian made sure to drop by in the morning to help me clean, moisturise and wrap the tattoo in fresh pads. They knew I would not be able to reach my back and do it myself, and wanted to make sure I was all set for the trip home.

When I got home I had to get my friends to help me with my back. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m no contortionist, and therefore could not physically reach my back, I would have easily been able to change the pads myself. My friends had no experience with healing pads, but they had no problems putting them on. I simply explained that you only have to put it on, making sure to cover all of the tattoo, and then tape it down.

It worked like a dream. I could sleep peacefully the first night and let it breathe in the daytime. I only had to use the pads until it had stopped pushing out liquids, and then it was smooth sailing form there. The healing process went so much smoother than I had anticipated, with the Tattoo Armour Aftercare Pads being the biggest reason for it.

If you have ever thought of getting them (Tattoo Armour Aftercare Pads), do it! Your clients will love you for it, your work will heal better because of it, and everyone will have an amazing experience. As a client I felt so well taken care of when provided with the pads. They are great to use for both inexperienced clients and veterans. I hope to be able to use them for all my tattoos in the future, and I feel blessed to get an incredible tattoo by some of the greatest artists on the Tattoo Armour Pro team.
